Need a Website? Let Me Hand You My Bag of Mistakes

October 26, 2026

After building sites for my own projects, for family projects, and for a few wonderfully patient clients, here is what I know: the hardest part of a website is not the website. It is everything around it. The words. The pictures. The "can you make the logo bigger." The mystery of why the contact form is quietly sending messages into the void.

I do this work so you don't have to spend three weeks learning the difference between a page and a post, or sitting up at midnight asking a screen why the menu disappeared on your phone. I have already asked the screen. The screen did not answer, but I figured it out eventually.

How I can help

  • New sites from scratch: clean, mobile-friendly, and simple enough that you can add a photo without calling me every single time. (You can still call me. I just like you to have options.)
  • Rescues: if your site is slow, half-broken, or still looks like 2011, I am your person. I genuinely enjoy a stubborn website.
  • Education, history, and community projects: this is where my heart lives. Accessible data, local history, and resources that actually help people find what they came for.
  • The small stuff: a form that doesn't send, a menu that vanishes on a phone, pictures that take forever to load. Small jobs are welcome here.

You bring the idea, the stories, and the photos you love. I bring the layout, the patience, and the bag of mistakes I already made on my own site so you don't have to make them on yours.

Take a look at my design services, or send me a note and tell me what you're trying to build. I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit, and if I'm not, I'll point you toward someone who is.
